					<description>I agree, thats a pretty good idea.  Wouldn't be too difficult to implement either, as the functionality to track the user focus is included there in the notification code.

					<description>What would be even nicer is some kind of timer that tracks user mouse actions.  If the user has not moved the mouse / clicked for more than 2 mins, than amp down the pings on server - by as much as 10 mins or even just stop pinging after some timeout.

One thing that bothers me about mf is that all the clients may keep pinging the server, and the suboptimal case is where multiple users decided to leave their browsers pointed at the forum when they left their computer on and went somewhere else.

This does things like generate huge log files on the server end with all those dead pings.
